Student Accommodation Architects
Being one of our largest sectors presently, Halliday Clark are at the forefront of student accommodation design, with links to several Universities and private student accommodation providers such as Unipol.
We have championed considered, sensitive design and this is now being shown to actively support students’ well-being and their mental health. Universities and student accommodation providers are working much closer together to create a supportive and stimulating environment to encourage well-being, boosting social interaction whilst contributing to a student’s overall university experience.
There is a trend towards better integration of student schemes within the local community and if carefully handled, can enable a positive impact to be made in residential areas providing a greater housing mix and added vibrancy that only students can bring to an area.
Students themselves are having more say in choosing their accommodation too. Whilst parental guidance is still strong, students are becoming less dependent upon their parents in making the final decision. Students are still preferring to choose traditional occupancy flats. The preference is for a home-style form of living arrangement with shared living spaces for between 4 and 12 students, each with their own private study bedroom. Interestingly, studio apartments are becoming increasingly difficult to let, with the predominant interest being generated by the mature and overseas student cohort.
We have engaged Halliday Clark as Lead consultants, Architects and Interior Designers for a series of student accommodation and Halls od Residence projects over several years and have found them to be thorough professional and diligent in carrying out full architectural services for these various projects. The team have provided innovative yet practical design solutions working closely with ourselves as developers and the end users to create schemes which have been highly successful and proved to be extremely popular with students. - Developer
