Following initial investigations to create a refurbished property, it was agreed with the Local Planning Authority that a new build, villa style design would be appropriate to create a high quality, independent dwelling within this prestigious area of Alwoodley, Leeds.
Using a symmetrical form, the building is divided on plan into a 3m grid with a central staircase to create the correct balance between the living and sleeping spaces. The central open stair, which forms a feature of the dwelling, is lit by a pyramidal rooflight filtering light throughout the interior.
