All Saints Church project to go ahead with National Lottery Support

All Saints Ilkley has been awarded £543,700 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to allow the works to the Church to go ahead.  The project will create a light, welcoming building which is fully accessible and can be used by the community for a wide range of purposes through a new link connecting the Church with the Church House. The extension will also include refurbishment work to the Church in the form of refurbished toilets and new heating and lighting.

Steel frame installation at Mayfield Road

Not even the minus temperatures and snow have stopped Dobsons from erecting the steels at our new offices at Mayfield Road, Ilkley.  The form is starting to take shape which is getting us all excited.

Work underway at our new offices

Work is well underway on our new office development in Ilkley. The new office is a 7,000 sq.ft. 2 1/2 storey building which will consist of three separate suites. Halliday Clark will be moving into one of the top floor suites.  The scheme has where possible used local companies, suppliers and workforce, emphasising our commitment to the local area. We hope that the high quality of materials being used will provide a refreshing alternative to standard commercial office space.  Check out a sample panel of the brick detailing:

Work placement with Leeds Beckett

Halliday Clark were delighted to welcome Joanna into our office last week as part of the great initiative by Leeds Beckett University to give their students a taste of life in an Architectural Practice.  The scheme brings students and practitioners together in a ‘speed dating’ introduction event that leads to a work placement for the students.  We showed Joanna the wide range of projects we are working on, including a site visit to a recently completed project.  We also got Joanna working on an ecclesiastical scheme in which she had some great ideas.

The Modern Timber House in the UK

The Hunt House features in Peter Wilson’s ‘The Modern Timber House in the UK: New Paradigms and Technologies’, published in September 2017.  The project had a unique design solution for an end terrace and was constructed with structural insulated panels (SIPs).
