More than any other profession, Architects can influence lives across generations using shape, texture, light and movement to inspire both work and play.  It is this legacy that drives our desire to create buildings which are beyond the ordinary.
How would you describe the Halliday Clark design process?

We start by listening to our Clients.  Understanding their practical, financial and inspirational needs is a fundamental part of our process.  Using traditional architectural principles, we can then design buildings that have an awareness of context, optimize site potential and balance the use of space and light to create buildings that people want to be in and around.

What type of projects do you undertake?

From large-scale commercial, educational and residential projects to individual houses and sensitive restoration schemes, Halliday Clark undertakes a variety of projects.  Our experienced team provides the expertise necessary to guide a project from inception to completion and has the track record to transform a project beyond what you thought possible.  Winners and nominees of many competitions and awards, our projects have been the subject of numerous articles and TV programmes, most notably Grand Designs.

What makes Halliday Clark different from other practices?

Our Clients tell us it's our ability to listen, our original designs, and a quick response process, backed by a highly skilled team.  With our technical expertise, customer care and project management skills, we deliver often challenging and complex projects and have the financial strength and stability to give the confidence needed to see a project through to completion.

Commercial realities are often in conflict with creative design.  In what ways does Halliday Clark manage this challenge?

Through the intelligent and innovative use of construction techniques, materials and technology we rise to the challenge of budget constrained projects.  With careful planning, we can deliver cost effective schemes which retain a strong sense of design integrity and flair.

What has been your greatest influence?

We will always draw inspiration from many of the world's great designers and from buildings, construction techniques and materials that advance our industry's understanding of what is possible.  But it is in our Clients that we find the motivation to create designs that both inspire and exceed expectations.

You talk about the environment and sustainability. In what way does this influence your work?

We are committed to researching and developing new ways to ensure our buildings work in harmony with the environment whilst recognizing that most projects also require a commercial approach.  By applying the very latest in techniques and materials we can develop sensitive, progressive designs that balance the needs of future generations with the commercial realities of today's Clients.
